Lesson 1 – Write your premise in one line.
Lesson 2 – List all your character and what role they play in the story. Describe how your main opponent attacks the great weakness of your hero.
Lesson 3 – List the 7 key structure steps.
Lesson 4 – Discover what genre(s), if any, you will use to tell your story. List how you will twist the genres you are using so that your story is original.
Lesson 5 – Define the society of your story with an emphasis on the proper balance between individual and group. Describe the unique combination of land, people and ideas that will serve as the context for your story. Describe the unique social stage of your hero, or explain why the hero is caught between two stages.
Lesson 6 – Describe the 22 steps for your story, in detail.
Lesson 7 – List each of the reveals in your story.
Lesson 8 – Describe each step of your hero’s moral fall and rise.
Lesson 9 – Determine the symbols for your hero and other characters.
Lesson 10 – List every scene in your story. Study the order of scenes. Make sure the scene sequence builds by structure, not chronology.
Lesson 11 – Begin writing the scenes focusing on the scenes story elements. Write the first draft.
Lesson 12 – Rewrite your script using the sequence described in this lesson.
