Malena (2000)

Comments are off

Truby-MalenaThis is one of the stranger movies in some time. I know the tradition of young boys coming of age with beautiful women is a hallowed one in Italy, but this film pushes the envelope. A gorgeous woman spends the entire movie walking back and forth in the town square while a young teen-age boy gawks at her.

No plot, no character development, no action by the hero. The message of this movie seems to be “Aren’t women beautiful?”

How Do You Tell a Great Story?

"I'm not exaggerating: Truby's Blockbuster revolutionized how I work. It's the simplest way I've ever found to build structure, character and theme. If you use a computer to write screenplays, you'll want Blockbuster."
